Lawrence Biscontini

I couldn’t do any of my careers if it weren’t for them, (Villa of the Sisters of Saint Joseph) so giving back to them —including visiting them yearly —continues to drive me.
I've always wanted to sing, so I gave myself singing lessons from a vocal coach starting one year before my 50th Christmas birthday!

Mindful Movement Specialist, Author, Speaker and Spa Consultant for FG2000

Lawrence Biscontini is a man of diverse talents. Not only does he serve as a mindful movement specialist, author, speaker, and spa consultant for his non-profit FG2000, but we may also find him serving as the auctioneer for the ISPA Foundation Live Auction, growing his own tea as a teaologist, teaching Pilates in Greek, or speaking Pig Latin in Spanish. Home is split among one of three islands: Mykonos, Manhattan, and Puerto Rico, but you won’t find him too many places without his beloved dog, Biskit, named after Lawrence’s father’s nickname.

“I’ve always wanted to sing, so I gave myself singing lessons from a vocal coach starting one year before my 50th Christmas birthday. I thought it would be cool to release only 12 copies of a CD, turn 50, and then take a sabbatical on my 51st year. Beth Synnott decided to ‘take on my case’ as vocal coach two years ago. I practiced for a full year before recording 12 copies only of a CD I made called ‘Songs that Chose Me,’ my favorite 12 songs that most significantly touched my life in the 50 years I’ve called this planet and body home. Encouraged by their enthusiasm (or blinded by my friends’ love and supportive messages), I decided to do a more comprehensive CD with more mainstream songs.

Again for a year, my vocal coach and accompanist Tom Snow and I met and I recorded a CD, ‘Songs that I Chose,’ of which the profits are donated to my charity. The charity is the Villa of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, who originally taught me how to write and sing in Catholic School, who now do outreach work instead of teaching by feeding the homeless and hungry between Pennsylvania and New York City. I couldn’t do any of my careers if it weren’t for them, so giving back to them —including visiting them yearly —continues to drive me.”
