Corri Vara

“I would love to spend an entire summer traveling across the United States to visit different baseball parks."
"It was my attention to the client experience and business that caught the eye and admiration of Mimi”

Corri Vara worked at International Day Spa for six years before she purchased the business from its original owner, Mimi Barre, in 2012. Corri found her passion working with Barre, and quickly realized she wanted to be even more involved in the business instead of continuing her role as a manager.

“During my years of working at the Spa, I learned that Mimi’s passion for systems was what differentiated International Day Spa from its smaller and larger competitors. I thrived on learning the business side as a receptionist and manager of the spa. It was my attention to the client experience and business that caught the eye and admiration of Mimi, who was interested in finding someone to carry her dream to another generation of satisfied customers.”

When she is not working diligently to grow the International Day Spa business, Corri volunteers for the YouthHope Foundation, a non-profit organization in Yucaipa, Calif., which she has seen grow from its beginnings.

“In 2005, I began helping Heidi Mayer sort clothes in her garage that she would distribute to the homeless community and those in need. After I graduated high school and began focusing on my education and career, Heidi continued to grow her passion for helping others into a non-profit organization, YouthHope. Once I became owner of International Day Spa, I reconnected with Heidi and am now able to help her fundraise throughout the year, as well as spread awareness of homeless youth and how we can help in our community.”

Corri doesn’t get to travel much (except to ISPA Conference & Expo, of course!), but if she could travel anywhere, she would incorporate one of her favorite things to do in her free time – watch baseball.

“I would love to spend an entire summer traveling across the United States to visit different baseball parks. I am a huge baseball fan and being able to experience the game in so many different cities would be amazing!”
