Tracy Harper

"It truly makes my heart happy when I can have moments like that because it reminds me to stop and take in a moment of being still and finding peace in the craziness of a schedule."
"My favorite thing about my role... is the limitless opportunities to create a truly unique and indigenous experience for our guests."

Spa Director, Spa at Sun Valley

In March 2017, Tracy Harper relocated her family from Horseshoe Bay, Texas, to Sun Valley, Idaho, for an opportunity to grow her career in the industry as the Director of Spa and Fitness at Sun Valley Resort. Since moving, she is enjoying learning about her new home.

“My favorite thing about my role as Director at the Spa at Sun Valley is the limitless opportunities to create a truly unique and indigenous experience for our guests. From the spa experience, to the great outdoors, we are embracing everything about this magical place and opening the doors to what Sun Valley truly has to offer. There is so much history at the Resort and we are capturing every ounce of it to share with our guests and give them a taste of what Sun Valley once was. I love it!!”

One of Tracy’s passions is public speaking and leading focus groups; she loves to teach and inspire people to simplify their lives. One of her most memorable experiences was when she led a professional development class on “Becoming an Effective Leader” to a group of spa professionals.

“The focus group was interactive and everyone had the opportunity to share their experiences in each area that we discussed and provide valuable feedback and support to help each other become more successful both professionally and personally. They led the focus group and I was able to facilitate and guide the discussion. I absolutely loved it and the group went away with more than what I could have given them if I just stood at the front reading from a PowerPoint. Watching a group of different individuals/personalities come together and teach each other is amazing to watch!”

Tracy also loves to travel, and enjoys exploring different places and cultures. She enjoys traveling for professional reasons just as much as personal, as she loves to network and get to know like-minded people while making friends. Her favorite place she’s been is Banff, Canada, where she attended a conference but had the opportunity to explore for a couple days.

“Everything about that place was amazing and the scenery was breathtaking.  I am always at awe when I am stopped in my tracks when I see raw beauty.  I know it sounds silly but it truly makes my heart happy when I can have moments like that because it reminds me to stop and take in a moment of being still and finding peace in the craziness of a schedule.  That is how Banff was for me.”
